This year’s President’s Star Charity is going to be very different from the past

Due to ongoing safe-distancing measures, President’s Star Charity 2020 will take place at The Theatre at Mediacorp without a live audience — only select guests and performers will be in attendance.

Hosted by Diana Ser and Fauzie Laily, the two-hour fundraiser — themed ‘Believe You Can’ — will be simulcast live on Channel 5, meWATCH and meWATCH YouTube on Oct 4, at 7.30pm.

Meet the MCs: Diana Ser and Fauzie Laily will be the hosts of 'President's Star Charity 2020'.

Besides homegrown stars, the line-up also features Brit Awards 2020’s Best New Artist recipient Lewis Capaldi and Indonesian singer Rossa, whose performances will be streamed from their home countries.

Highlights from PSC 2020 include:

/ Guest-of-Honour President Halimah Yacob participating in tile-painting alongside Mediacorp artistes and Muhammad Saifudeen Abdul Salim, a 23-year-old aspiring motivational speaker with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

/ The debut of ‘Believe’, the first-ever PSC theme song penned by Singaporean singer-songwriters Jarell Huang and JJ Neo to mark 20 years of the President's Challenge.

/ A medley of classic tunes performed by Rahimah Rahim and Joanna Dong.

/ A puppetry show presented by community outreach initiative Artbeatz, and Kym Ng, Tyler Ten and Joshua Marc.

/ A dance number featuring Zoe Tay and the Diverse Abilities Dance Collective.

/ Pierre Png and Elvin Ng accompanying seven Team SG athletes in ferrying nine President’s Challenge beneficiaries on a scenic two-hour trishaw ride under the auspices of fundraising enterprise Cycling Without Age. The ride will culminate on air with a warm welcome by President Halimah upon their arrival at the Townsquare at Mediacorp.

Audiences may donate to PSC 2020 in any preferred amount starting today (Sept16). They can do so scanning via their bank apps a PayNow QR code that will be available on meWATCH.sg/psc2020 and flashed on-screen during the show, or through giving.sg/psc2020.

In addition, Sheng Siong and United Overseas Bank are partnering Mediacorp to drive public awareness about how members of the public can make donations by using the PayNow QR code.

Last year’s President's Star Charity show raised almost S$10.5 million, breaking 2017’s record of S$8.3 million.

Catch the President’s Star Charity 2020 live on Channel 5, meWATCH and meWATCH YouTube on Oct 4, 7.30pm. It will be repeated on Channel 5 on Oct 10, 12.30pm. It will also be available on demand for free on meWATCH from Oct 4.
