Who Did My Ah Ma Kill? (Mediacorp Redian TikTok)

Mediacorp’s 65-part microdrama — perfect for you guys with, uh, shorter attention spans — stars Star Search 2024 finalist Ler Ka Ying as a Gen-Zer magically zapped to the 1960s. There, she runs into her future grandma (Tay Ying…no laughing in the back) who turns out to be a gangland badass. Ayden Sng (smile lah) co-stars as a cop.

The Chair Company (HBO Max, Oct 13)

Tim Robinson (Detroiters, I Think You Should Leave) stars as a family man who stumbles upon a conspiracy following an encounter with a…chair. Yes, you read that correct. If you know Tim Robinson, expect this series —  executive produced by Adam McKay (Succession)— to be gleefully unhinged.

Everybody Loves Me When I’m Dead (Netflix, Oct 14)

Sick of time-travel tales? (Ouch!) Then this Thai crime drama offers a refreshing change. Theeradej Wongpuapan and Vachirawich Wattanapakdeepaisan play two cash-strapped bank employees who siphon off ฿30 million baht (S$1.2 mil) from a dormant bank account belonging to a dead client with no NOK. Stealing it is easy. Getting away with it? That’s another story. Shallow Grave much?

Murdaugh: Death in the Family (Disney+, Oct 15)

A few years ago, Jason Clarke played Ted Kennedy in Chappaquiddick, about the scandal that ended a presidential dream. Now, he’s back in another powerful (and equally messy) family — the Murdaughs. Clarke stars as Alex Murdaugh, a lawyer whose empire of lies, fraud, and murder unravels in this eight-part mini-series. Patricia Arquette and Brittany Snow co-star.

Mr Scorsese (Apple TV+, Oct 17)

This five-part docu-series charts the life and career of cinematic icon Martin Scorsese, featuring interviews with friends, family and longtime collaborators. If you’ve somehow never seen a Scorsese film (what?!), you owe it to yourself to start now. (And No, just watching Goodfellas doesn’t count.) Maybe this will point you in the right direction.

Karate Kid: Legends (Netflix, Oct 17)

On paper, the legacy sequel should be a knockout — Karate Kid OG Ralph Macchio and reboot star Jackie Chan joining forces to mentor American Born Chinese’ Ben Wang for his shot at glory. But somewhere between the crane kicks and callbacks, it comes up a little short. Oh well, there’s always Cobra Kai
