Dream to You (Viu, July 13)

This new K-drama stars Hwang In-yeop (Dear X) and Lee Hye-ri (Record of Youth) as former teenage lovers who reunite 15 years after going their separate ways to pursue their careers. Today, he’s a successful filmmaker and she’s a jaded reporter. Will they give love a second chance? Or does fate have something else in mind? We’ll see. We have 12 episodes to find out. Hot Ones: Extra Heat (Netflix, July 14)

The YouTube talk show with hot questions and even hotter wings is now on Netflix! This is the first of several specials where host Sean Evans grills guests with thought-provoking, why-didn’t-I-think-of-that questions while they chow down on wings (or tofu) of varying degrees of spiciness. First up: Will Ferrell, Fortune Feimster, and Jimmy Tatro, stars of the golf comedy The Hawk…keep scrolling.  

Lucky (Apple TV, July 15)

The latest show from Your Friends and Neighbours creator Jonathan Tropper stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the title character, a con artist on the run from the Feds (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor) and a crime boss (Annette Bening) when a high-stakes heist job goes sideways. Timothy Olyphant co-stars as Lucky’s old man. New episodes every Wednesday through Aug 19.

Ride or Die (Prime Video, July 15)

Hilarity and mayhem ensue when Debbie (Octavia Spencer) discovers her BFF Judith (Hannah Waddingham) is an assassin. Get the f*** out of here! When Judith’s secret life catches up on her, she drags her buddy along for a road trip across Europe. But of course. Bill Nighy and Ed Skrein co-star in this eight-part series.

The Hawk (Netflix, July 16)

Move over, Happy Gilmore! With World Cup fever finally coming to an end, it’s time to spotlight a more exciting sport — and President Trump’s favourite — golf! This 10-part series stars Will Ferrell as Lonnie ‘Hawk’ Hawkins, a has-been golfer plotting a comeback, but his loony antics keep getting in the way. Fortune Feimster (FUBAR) and Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal) co-star.

The East Palace (Netflix, 17)

I was bummed when Netflix discontinued Kingdom (or is it on hold?). Maybe this will make up for it: another period supernatural thriller following a spirit-sensitive swordsman (Nam Joo-hyuk) and a ghost whisperer (Roh Yoon-seo) who are summoned by the King (Cho Seung-woo) to investigate weird happenings in the palace.
