What To Watch This Week: Mar 23-29, 2026
Are you in the mood for some BTS...and Daredevil?
I Went Viral on a Train (Mediacorp Re Dian Tikok, Mediacorp Drama on YouTube, Mar 27 & 28)
Here’s another bite-sized drama to keep you distracted between MRT stops and Shopee purchases. (Pssst, it’s okay to be bored and do, you know, nothing, even if it's only 90 seconds) Following an altercation on a train going viral — full disclosure: LTA is a production partner — a grumpy senior (Marcus Chin) enlists an influencer (Chantalle Ng) to help with damage control. All episodes drop on mewatch on Apr 3.
Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2 (Disney+, Mar 24)
Picking up from Season 2, Daredevil (Charlie Cox) gears up to assemble a few good allies — including old enemies (contractually, I can’t say) and familiar faces (hello, Jessica Jones… not a spoiler; it’s in the trailer) — to stop thug-turned-mayor Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) from turning New York into his personal ATM (completely unrealistic, right?). But first, they’ll have to get past Kingpin’s private militia: ICE, pardon me, Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Rebel, resist, rock n’ roll. This is Marvel’s at its grittiest — given what’s happening in the US, not always the most comfortable escapism. But it’s sure one hell of a cathartic watch.
BTS: The Return (Netflix, Mar 27)
You’ve seen their comeback concert. Now, go BTS of BTS’ reunion album in this documentary directed by Bao Nguyen (The Greatest Night in Pop). It follows RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin and Jung Kook as they reunite in Los Angeles to, per the press release, “create music that reflects who they are now — culminating in what will become a landmark album of its time”.
Ed & Ryu: Mad About Seafood (BBC Player, Mar 22, 9pm; BBC Earth, StarHub Ch 407& Singtel TV 503, 9pm)
Celeb chefs Ryu Soo-young and Culinary Class Wars ‘breakout’ Edward Lee bond over — you guessed it — Korean seafood, celebrating the country’s rich maritime food heritage in this four-part docu-series. Shot over the course of a year, it follows the duo from winter in Busan to spring on the west coast, summer in Gwangju and Jeju, and autumn in Seoul. Yum yum.
Ready or Not: Texas (Netflix, Mar 24)
Nothing to do with the Samara Weaving horror movie — this one’s a travelogue about the US. Then again, travelling in America in this ICE-y climate? Maybe it is horror after all. (Kidding. Not really. Have you seen the news lately?) In this 10-part docu-series, Lee Seo-jin (Jinny’s Kitchen) packs his bags for the Lone Star State and hangs out with his pals in Dallas — the city he dreams of calling home after retirement (good luck with the paperwork).
Something Very Bad is Going to Happen (Netflix, Mar 26)
Getting married soon? Then you might want to avoid this like an STD. Created by Haley Z Boston (whose writing credits include episode of Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities and Hunters) and produced by Stranger Things’ Matt and Ross Duffer, this “atmospheric horror series” stars Camila Morrone (The Night Manager) as a woman with a bad feeling about her upcoming nuptials. Is it just cold feet… or something supernatural at work? Yep, those in-laws…
Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice (Disney+, Mar 27)
This hitman action-comedy comes a wild sci-fi twist. Vince Vaughn and James Marsden play mobster pals Nick and Mike, whose relationship is… complicated. How complicated? Mike’s girlfriend (Eiza Gonzalez) happens to be Nick’s wife. And it gets better: all hell breaks loose when Nick gains access — don’t ask — to a time machine. Told you it’s wild. Reactions from the trailer and the film’s world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival suggest it’s every bit as crazy as it sounds, if not crazier.
