TV Review: James Corden Turns ‘The Shape Of Water’ Into An Inappropriate Musical

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Bravo to the ‘Inappropriate Musicals’ skit on The Late Late Show with James Corden After turning The Revenant, The Exorcist, Se7en, and The Terminator into unlikely musicals, Corden and guests Dan Stevens and Audra McDonald tried to adapt Taxi Driver, The Shape of Water and A Quiet Place into future Tony-award winners. (Sure, the choices are a tad farfetched but did that stop Groundhog Day and Rocky from hitting Broadway stage?) Of the three would-be musicals, I’d totally dress up and beat traffic to catch The Shape of Water at The MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands. Who can resist such macabre lyrics, “When a fish loves a woman he becomes a man/When a woman loves a fish she fries him in a pan”? A Quiet Place is a strong contender too; it’s so weird that it may actually work (“It’s a really quiet place /Don’t make a sound/ in case monsters will eat your face”).
