Man Vs Wild With Bear Grylls And PM Modi

Bear Grylls is no stranger to hanging out with dignitaries in the wild. In 2015, the British Special Forces trooper-turned-survivalist guru went hiking with US President Barack Obama in the Alaskan outback. This time, in a special Man Vs Wild episode, Grylls teams up with India Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an excursion to Jim Corbett National Park, in the northern state of Uttarakhand. By Grylls standards, the show is pretty mild, with the duo engaging in nothing dangerous, or remotely strenuous. Most of the time, it’s Grylls channelling his inner talk-show host, chatting with the 69-year-old Indian premier about eco-conservation. “Two men [with a bunch of] secret service [agents], in a jungle surrounded by tigers, what can possibly go wrong?” says Grylls. Even though he didn’t chow down berries, bugs and carcasses, he did shove his hands into some fresh elephant dung (fun fact: it’s a powerful mosquito repellent when burnt!). The man really loves his shit. (***)
