Expect a lot of tongue action in Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Sony Pictures has dropped the trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel to 2018’s Venom, which sees Tom Hardy back as reporter Eddie Brock, still stuck with the alien symbiote Venom.

The three-minute preview starts out light with Eddie and Venom doing The Odd Couple shtick before things get dark and chaotic with the introduction of Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage (Woody Harrelson), who made a cameo appearance in the original movie.

The sequel, directed by Andy Serkis, also stars Michelle Williams, Stephen Graham, and Naomi Harris as the symbiote Shriek. In the comics, Shriek is Carnage’s lover. Does this mean Venom will be up against two baddies?

The first Venom, directed by Ruben Fleischer, opened to mediocre reviews (29% on Rotten Tomatoes; 35% on Metascore) but that didn't stop it from earning more than US$856 million (S$1.13 bil) worldwide.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage was originally set to come out in October 2020 but it got delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic to June 2021 and again to Sept 24. It opens in Singapore a week earlier on Sept 16.

Open up and say...ahhh! Venom and Carnage get some mouth-to-mouth action.
