Trailer Watch: Tom Hanks Goes Nazi-Hunting in Greyhound
The two-time Oscar winner also wrote the script for the WWII thriller.
Set in the early days of WWII, Hanks stars as Captain Ernest Krause, the navy commander leading an international convoy of 37 Allied ships across the North Atlantic while being chased down by Nazi submarines.
The just-released action-packed trailer shows Krause, in his first command of a US destroyer (codenamed ‘Greyhound’), trying to evade attacks by the U-boats. “In 48 hours, we’ve lost seven ships,” says Krause.
Can Krause stop the Nazis from wiping out the remaining convoy? How will this game of the hunted-becomes-the-hunter play out?
The movie, directed by Aaron Schneider, also stars Elisabeth Shue, Stephen Graham (The Irishman), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven), and Rob Morgan (Marvel’s Luke Cage). Hanks also wrote the script based on CS Forester’s novel The Good Shepherd.
