Trailer Watch: The Rock & The Stath Raise Hell In London In ‘Hobbs & Shaw’
The ‘Fast & Furious’ spin-off also stars Idris Elba as the bad guy.
The trailer for the Hobbs & Shaw, the highly-anticipated spin-off of the Fast & Furious franchise has arrived! And it looks fast, furious and a whole lotta fun.
Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham reprise their roles from the carmageddon series — as ex-Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs and rogue MI6 operative Deckard Shaw, respectively.
The one-time enemies have to put their differences aside to capture Idris Elba’s Brixton, the resident baddie who’s like this genetically modified super-soldier. (Is Elba wearing the same Jaeger pilot suit from Pacific Rim?)
Judging from the trailer footage, Hobbs & Shaw looks like a cross between Lethal Weapon and 48 Hours, but with more wisecracks, bone cracks, and because this is a Fast & Furious movie, you've-got-to-be-kidding-me, physics-defying vehicular mayhem.
The movie, directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde), also stars Mission: Impossible — Fallout’s Vanessa Kirby and Alita: Battle Angel’s Eiza González. It opens here Aug 1.
