Trailer Watch: Melissa McCarthy And Octavia Spencer Fight Crime In Thunder Force
The Netflix movie premieres on Apr 9.
Netflix has just released the trailer for Thunder Force, the superhero spoof starring McCarthy and Spencer as estranged childhood best friends Lydia and Emily, who become a crime-fighting duo after they acquired superpowers from a science experiment.
Now, Lydia has super strength and Emily has invisibility. Together, they are bent on bringing down villain Bobby Cannavale (Ant-Man).
The movie — directed by McCarthy’s husband Ben Falcone — also stars Jason Bateman as another villain (or a sidekick?) with crab-claws for hands.
In December, while they were in Australia filming the Hulu mini-series Nine Perfect Strangers, McCarthy and Falcone posted a video on Instagram in which they pleaded to Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi to cast them in the sequel.
Spoiler alert: Photos leaked from the set of 'Thor: Love and Thunder' show Melissa McCarthy as an Asgardian actor re-enacting key 'Thor: Ragnarok' scenes in a play. McCarthy plays a fictionalised version of Hela, the 'Ragnarok' villain played by Cate Blanchett
Thunder Force will stream on Netflix from Apr 9 while Thor: Love and Thunder is slated to open in cinemas in May 2022.
