Trailer Watch: Jean Grey Breaks Bad In ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’
The final ‘X-Men’ movie opens here June 6.
Jean-Grey is about to break bad.
In the just-released first trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix, the telekinetic mutant, played by Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner, is about to unleash her eponymous dark side, and her mentor Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) has something to do with it.
Dark Phoenix, said to be the last chapter in the X-Men saga that started in 2000, is set in 1992, about 10 years after the events of 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse. “This is probably the most emotional X-Men we’ve done and the most pathos-driven,” said McAvoy in Entertainment Weekly. “There’s a lot of sacrifice and a lot of suffering.”
Longtime X-Men writer-producer Simon Kinberg makes his directorial debut which was supposed to open on Nov 2, but re-shoots to fix the third and the ending pushed its release date to, first, February, and later to June.
Dark Phoenix also stars Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) and Tye Sheridan (Cyclops).
Will Hugh Jackman make another cameo as Wolverine?
