Zack Snyder’s Justice League looks intense. Very intense.
That’s the main takeaway from the full trailer for the superhero movie which was launched on Monday (Feb 15) morning.
The two-and-a-half-minute preview offers a glimpse of villain Darkseid (Ray Porter), who was originally the baddie in Snyder’s first cut of the movie, but eventually omitted. (By now you should be familiar with the production’s troubled history.)
The movie sees Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman(Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) forming an alliance to defend Earth from the troika of evil, Darkseid, Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) and DeSaad (Peter Guinness).
Somewhere, somehow Jared Leto’s the Joker gets mixed up in the fight for humanity’s future. “We live in a society where honour is a distant memory,” the Joker says in the clip. “Isn’t that right, Batman?”
The four-hour Zack Snyder’s Justice League reportedly cost US$20-US$30 million (S$26.5-S$39.7 mill) to restore and is rated R in the US ‘for violence and some language’. Our guess is that it’ll be classified NC16 here when it premieres on HBO Go on March 18, the same day as the US.
