Trailer Watch: Harrison Ford Has A New Furry Pal In The Call Of The Wild
It’s based on the classic novel by Jack London.
Based on Jack London’s classic novel, Call of the Wild is about a big-hearted dog Buck after his blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is taken from his California home and transplanted to the frigid Alaskan Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest member on a mail delivery dog sled team, Buck finds his true place in the world and becomes his own master.”
In the just-dropped trailer, we see Ford’s shaggy loner John Thornton teaming up with his newfound (CG) canine sidekick in a series of adventures, including Buck and a sled team trying to avoid an avalanche, Buck and John engaging in some extreme kayaking, and Buck confronting a Grizzly bear. Exciting stuff.
The adventure marks the live-action feature debut of director Chris Sanders, best known for How to Train Your Dragon and Ilo & Stitch. It also stars Dan Stevens, Karen Gillan, Omar Sy, Bradley Whitford, and Cara Gee.
