Trailer Watch: Chris Wang Runs Into Relationship Problems In HBO Asia’s First Rom-Com Series Adventure Of The Ring

Based on the mathematician and author Lai I-Wei’s novel of the same name, the eight-part Taiwanese production series stars Chris Wang as a baseball-loving actuary whose plans to propose to his flight attendant girlfriend (Allison Lin) are derailed when he loses the engagement ring.

As the twosome bicker and ponder about their future, the ring ‘embarks’ on a journey as it comes in contact with different couples with their own relationship issues. Will the band find its way back to the intended wearer?

Directed by Nelson Yeh (Mad King of Taipei) and Kitamura Tayoharu (Q Series — Love of Sandstorm), the eight-part series also stars Erek Lin, Helena Hsu, You-Chian Wang, Guo-Shao Liou, Shao-Hua Lung, Vicky Huang and Janet Hsieh.

Adventure of the Ring is the third Taiwanese original produced by HBO Asia this year; the Christopher Lee-starring Workers came out in May and the sci-fi thriller Dream Raider in August.

HBO Asia (Singtel TV Ch 420 & StarHub Ch 601) will debut the first two episodes on Dec 13 at 8pm, and HBO Go. The remaining parts will drop as weekly instalments on Sundays at the same time.
