Trailer Watch: Chris Pratt Signs Up For The Tomorrow War
The sci-fi thriller premieres July 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon Prime Video has dropped the first trailer for The Tomorrow War, out July 2 on the streaming service.
Pratt plays a high school teacher who is recruited by time-travellers to fight in a war against aliens in 2051. He is joined by other soldiers and civilians from the present, including his estranged father (Whiplash's J K Simmons) and a scientist (The Handmaid's Tale's Yvonne Stahovski).
The movie marks the first live-action effort by Chris McKay, who made his directorial debut with 2017’s The Lego Batman Movie. Betty Gilpin (GLOW), Sam Richardson (Veep) and Edwin Hodge (The Purge) are in the cast as well.
In January, Amazon reportedly paid US$200 million (S$265 mil) for the distribution rights to The Tomorrow War, which was originally set for a theatrical release. For that kind of money, the e-commerce giant must really, really like it.
