Trailer Watch: Anthony Mackie And Sebastian Stan Have A Stare-Off In The Falcon And The Winter Soldier
The limited series premieres on Disney+ on March 19.
Per the official synopsis, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will follow the events of Avengers: Endgame as Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Buck Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that test their abilities — and their patience.
Judging from the trailer — which debuted during the Super Bowl LV broadcast — whatever their mission, they’ll be hitting the clubs, jumping off a C-130, throwing Captain America’s vibranium shield, and fighting atop a container truck, and, er, a staring contest.
There’s a lot of action and mismatched buddy banter a la Lethal Weapon in the US$150 million (S$200 mil) six-part mini-series helmed by Kari Skogland (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Walking Dead).
Other familiar faces seen in the two-minute trailer include Emily VanCamp as ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter and Daniel Brühl’s Helmut Zemo, the villain in Captain America: Civil War. “I have no intention to leave my work unfinished,” says Zemo.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will premiere on Disney+ on March 19. The streaming service will be launched in Singapore on Feb 23.
