Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have launched the second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home. And it looks like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are still a no-show. For now.

At this point, we’re starting to believe that the Spider-Men portrayed by those guys won’t be appearing alongside Tom Holland’s MCU web-slinger to take on rogue’s gallery of villains from the alternate Spider-verses.

Garfield has repeatedly said that he is not in the movie, as did Maguire…no, wait, we haven’t much from him. Anyhoo, even Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has begged fans to dial down their expectations.

In the second (hopefully, the last) trailer, we get to see more of Doc Ock/Otto Octavius (a de-aged Alfred Molina), who’s later joined by Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman, Rhys Ifans’ the Lizard, and Jamie Foxx’s Electro.

How can one guy fight all these guys? Maybe Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch will cast some spell (he’s the one who caused the multi-verse frakking in the first place) to even the odds.

In one scene, we see Spidey trying to save MJ (Zendaya) from falling down from a great height. Is she going to die (gasp!)? Or will the other Spider-Men swoop in the nick of time and save MJ, save the day — booyah! — the crowd goes hot-fudge wild!

Yeah, maybe that’s the big surprise Marvel is going to spring on us. Per Variety, Holland did share at a recent fan event in LA that there’s a “true moment in cinematic history.”

We’ll just have to wait for the notoriously loose-lipped Holland to drop spoilers when he hits the talk-show circuit to promote the movie. Meanwhile, you can check out his and cast-mates Jacob Batalon (as Ned) and Zendaya react to the new trailer.

Meanwhile, in other Spider-Man news, Marvel announced on Disney Plus Day (Nov 12) they’re working on an animal series called Spider-Man: Freshman Year, which looks at Peter Parker’s pre-Avengers days before the events in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
