Mediacorp will livestream the Global Citizen Prize Awards via meWATCH and meLISTEN on Dec 20 (Sunday), 9am.

The award ceremony — hosted for a second year by EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) winner John Legend — recognises the work of inspiring leaders and activists for their efforts in bringing positive changes and helping the world’s most vulnerable communities, particularly during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Global Citizen is an advocacy group which was also behind the Lady Gaga-led One World: Together at Home concert in April, and the Miley Cyrus-hosted Global Goal: Unite for Our Future in June.

Among the prizes being handed out are Global Citizen Prize for World Leader Award, Cisco Youth Leadership Award, Global Citizen of the Year, Global Citizen Prize for Business Leader, Global Citizen Artist of the Year, and Country Hero Award.

The show will also feature inspirational stories and unforgettable performances by Carrie Underwood, Common, Gwen Stefani, JoJo and Tori Kelly, as well as special appearances by John Oliver, Nick Jonas, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Global Citizen Prize Awards 2020 will be livestreamed on meWATCH and meLISTEN on Dec 20, with (virtual) red carpet coverage — hosted by Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans — starting at 8.30am (SG Time). The pre-show will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews with artists, special packages on the Prize winners, as well as a preview of the Global Citizen album.

The main ceremony will kick off at 9am. It will also be shown on Channel 5 on Dec 31, 9.30pm, with an encore on Jan 2, 1pm.
