Mediacorp Celebrates Festival Of Lights With Spectacular Deepavali Countdown Show

Get ready for five days of non-stop exciting Deepavali shows and movies on meWATCH and Vasantham from Nov 3-7.

Mediacorp Celebrates Festival Of Lights With Spectacular Deepavali Countdown Show

Usher in the Festival of Lights with Mediacorp’s Amarkala Deepavali Countdown Show on Wednesday (Nov 3).

The two-hour special will be helmed by Vasantham artistes Jaynesh Isuran, Udaya Soundari, Saravanan Ayyavoo, Karthikeyan Somasundaram and Gunalan Morgan.

They will be joined by energetic trio Karthikeyan Somasundaram, Gunalan Morgan and Sajini Naidu who will be bringing viewers a first-hand experience of the festivities through live crosses from the heart of the celebrations, Little India.

The line-up of performers includes Vasantham artistes Prasanna Ramesh, Pavithra Nair, Vishnu Balaji and recent Nenjukulle winner Abdul Jali.

Look out for a special rendition of this year’s Deepavali song ‘Navarasa Deepavali’, composed and performed by Vasantham Star alumni Satthia alongside several other Vasantham singers.

After the countdown show, binge-watch an array of exciting content over five days of celebrations (Nov 3-7), including world TV premieres of the blockbuster Sarpatta Parambarai, a sports action film showcasing the 1970s boxing culture and politics in North Chennai, and Thalaivi, the biopic of Indian actress-politician J. Jayalalithaa.

Other highlights: a special festive episode of cooking variety show Un Samayal Arayil heartwarming Deepavali telemovies Adukku Veetu Annasamy Season 2 Deepavali Special, featuring the iconic Annasamy family, and Blk 414D, about a mysterious good Samaritan helping families prepare for Deepavali.
