Trailer Watch: Jordan Peele Drops More Hints To His Sci-Fi Mystery Nope
It'll definitely involve aliens and UFOs.
Aliens are coming — and they’re landing on Nope, Jordan Peele’s third feature film.
If you’re still trying to figure out what Nope is about, the latest trailer, dropped on Thursday (June 9), offers more details.
Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer play siblings running a horse training ranch for Hollywood productions and their lives are turned upside down when aliens arrive and hover over their property. The duo then gang up with fellow residents (including The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun) to monetise this discovery — by filming these visitors from the sky and selling the footage to the highest bidder.
Or something like that.
That said, Nope is still shrouded in secrecy. And we like it that way. Peele’s earlier movies — his 2018 debut Get Out, which won him a Best Original Screenplay Oscar, and 2019’s Us — have this air of mystery; the less you know about them, the better they play.
Between the shocks and screams, he’ll throw in comments about the state of humanity (like racism, and xenophobia). It’s always exciting to see an original movie that isn’t produced by Marvel; a sequel; a remake of a classic film/ TV series; a biopic; or an adaptation of a YA novel.
All shall be revealed when Nope opens in cinemas in August. Watch the trailer here:
