Get your ass to Mars! Because that’s where John Cho is headed.
Netflix has offered a first look of its highly- anticipated space Western Cowboy Bebop, an adaptation of the revered Japanese anime and manga, headlined by the Star Trek star.
Per the official synopsis, Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Marvel’s Luke Cage’s Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’s Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.
The 10-part series also stars Geoff Stults (Enlisted) and Tamara Tunie (Law & Order SVU). Shinichirō Watanabe, the director of the original anime series which ran for 26 episodes in 1998, is onboard as consultant while original composer Yoko Kanno is supplying the jazzy score. The
Cowboy Bebop will premiere on Netflix on Nov 19.
