First Look: Tom Holland As Nathan Drake In Film Adaptation Of Uncharted

Tom Holland has dropped a first-look of himself in character as Nathan Drake in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the video game Uncharted.

Holland, 24, posted the picture of himself dressed as the thrill-seeker/fortune hunter — Henley shirt, cargo pants, mountain boots, shoulder gun hoister — with the caption: “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Nate. #uncharted.”

The post follows an earlier tweet by Nolan North, who voiced Nathan in the video games, who also shared pictures from the film’s set earlier in the day and praised Holland’s performance as his character. “Like looking into a mirror!,” North wrote. “Proud to have @TomHolland1996 continuing the Drake legacy! Absolutely smashing it! Thanks for the set visit!!”

These pictures are concrete proof that the Uncharted movie is getting made. The Sony Pictures production has a protracted history: it went through six directors (including David O Russell and Shawn Levy) before Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer signed on the dotted line.

Welcome to the jungle: Nathan Drake (voiced by Nolan North) in 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End'.

Filming on the movie — which also stars Mark Walhberg as Drake’s mentor Sully, Antonio Banderas, Sophia Taylor Ali and Tati Gabrielle — resumed in July after it was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Uncharted is slated to open in July 2021.

Once Holland is done with Uncharted, he will move on to filming Spider-Man 3.
