It premieres on Netflix on July 7.

The creators of the Descendants of the Sun have a new show premiering on Netflix on July 7.

Mr Sunshine is a 24-part historical drama starring Lee Byung-Hun. Lee plays a young man who’s relocated with his family to the US, following the upheaval caused by the 1871 Shinmiyangyo Expedition, or the first American military campaign in Korea.

When he returns to his motherland as a US Marine Corps officer years later, he gets mixed up with an aristocrat’s daughter (The Handmaiden’s Kim Tae-Ri) and a conspiracy to colonise his home country.

New episodes available to stream on Saturdays, on the same day of its Korean debut.
