First Look: Hopper Is Very Much Alive In Stranger Things 4

This is a teaser no one saw coming.

Everybody can stop speculating whether Hopper (David Harbour) will return in Stranger Things 4. Netflix just dropped a 50-sec teaser to confirm that he is indeed coming back.

The teaser, called ‘From Russia With Love’, shows a very much alive Hopper (David Harbour) freezing his ass off in some labour camp in Russia. Is this the same hellhole we saw in the post-credit stinger in Stranger Things 3? Yes, it is.

Stranger Things showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer said (via Variety): “We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper. Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other. Meanwhile, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything. Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime — pray for the American.”

This isn’t the first Stranger Things 4 teaser; Netflix issued one back in October, shortly after the Season 4 announcement. That teaser dropped two possible hints: one, the kids’ new adventure will take them beyond Hawkins (Russia?), and two, it may involve a time-travel element.

Stranger Things 4 just started filming in January and will reportedly wrap in August. Maybe it’ll premiere just in time for Halloween.
