Netflix’s food travelogue Somebody Feed Phil will return for its fourth season on October 30. This time, host and TV sitcom writer Phil Rosenthal will explore the local cuisines and culture of Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco, Mississippi Delta, Hawaii, and Singapore.

Judging from the trailer and the first-look stills, the Singapore episode sees the Everybody Loves Raymond creator checking out Raffles Hotel and Jewel Changi Airport and being shown around hawker centres by MasterChef Singapore judges Damian D’Silva and Bjorn Shen, and go-to food guide KF Seetoh.

Singapore is the fourth Asian city to be featured on Somebody Feed Phil since its 2018 premiere. Rosenthal, 60, has also visited Bangkok and Saigon in Season 1, and Seoul in Season 3. (Wait a second, he hasn’t been to Malaysia, Taiwan and Japan? Maybe he’s saving them for another season.)

Somebody Feed Phil isn’t the first Netflix show to spotlight Singapore food culture. Last year, Singapore was part of Street Food: Asia, in an episode that was criticised for featuring food that isn’t representative of the local hawker culture.
