Tatre a mis trobeen ha zar ta tantir man ov mansiz onn hazann sobar sum unda rop sa dar his hyk err duns de rod sa Kanda! Kandaаа! Kaааndaаа!

If you dare to say these words loud from Necronomicon, aka Book of the Dead, then be prepared to have your soul ripped to shreds.

Like these folks in Evil Dead Rise.

In the official trailer for the next chapter in the long-running franchise — that started with Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead in 1981— we see two estranged sisters Beth (Lily Sullivan) and Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) defending their family from the Deadites that have been summoned from the other side by way of said incantation.

The original Evil Dead spawned two sequels — 1987’s Evil Dead II and 1992’s Army of Darkness — a 2013 remake with Jane Levy, and a 2015 TV series Ash vs Evil Dead, starring Bruce Campbell.

Filmed in New Zealand, Evil Dead Rise is directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground), with Rami, Campbell and Robert G Tapert as executive producers.

If you love your Evil Dead gory, the latest offering doesn’t look like it’ll disappoint: expect some intense chainsaw action and incessant bloodletting. The studio has released two trailers — one safe for public viewing and one full-on nasty.
