The publicity blitz for Jurassic World: Dominion has officially kicked off.

Even though the third chapter in the Jurassic World saga — and sixth in the series that started with Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park in 1993 — doesn’t open in cinemas until June 2022, the studio is ready to share with the world the first five minutes to the movie directed by Colin Trevorrow, who helmed 2015’s Jurassic World and co-wrote 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. (According to Trevorrow Instagram post, he finished the movie two weeks ago.)

Featuring prehistoric beasts roaming the earth 65 million years ago, the footage starts off like outtakes from BBC documentary Walking with Dinosaurs before it cuts to the present day — probably not too soon after the events in Fallen Kingdom — where a T-Rex is seen crashing a drive-in movie (hate it when that happens) and is later pursued by a helicopter.

Trevorrow, who also oversees Netflix’s animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (season 4 drops on next Fri), previously directed a 10-minute short, Battle at Big Rock, just before filming began on Dominion last year. Starring Andre Holland and Natalie Martinez, the short follows a family’s terrifying encounter with the reanimated dinosaurs in Big Rock National Park.

Jurassic World: Dominion opens in Singapore cinemas on June 9, 2022. It will star Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Jurassic Park alums Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. Watch the prologue here:
