Ekin Cheng, Jordan Chan, Michael Tse, Jerry Lamb, and Chin Ka-Lok, the stars of the 1996 cult triad drama Young & Dangerous, team up again as blood brothers working together as mercenaries.
Following a botched job in Budapest (involving — you guessed it — gold bullions), the gang go their separate ways before resurfacing in the Japanese countryside to seek retribution.
The reunion movie is part bromance, part travelogue, part revenge yarn, packed with boring car chases, frenetic gun fights, and melodramatic dire-logue about kinship and loyalty, and the slo-mo shots of the actors doing the Power Walk, which depending on which side of the bed you got up from, can be either very cool or cheesy.
Pay close attention to Cheng’s gorgeous hair: it deserves its own billing. Seriously. (**1/2)
