Theatre Actress Siti K Wins Mediacorp Singing Competition Berani Nyanyi? Season 2
The actress, whose real name is Siti Khalijah Zainal, said that joining the competition allowed her to explore her creativity and push her boundaries as an artiste.
After weeks of fiery battles and dazzling performances, Mediacorp’s Malay singing competition Berani Nyanyi? crowned the winner of its second season: Theatre thespian Siti K, whose real name is Siti Khalijah Zainal.
For weeks, Siti battled a bevy of popular public personalities including Dalina Jaapar, Farhana M Noor and Marina Yusoff, before emerging victorious. The show, which is hosted by iconic duo Najip Ali and Era Farida, featured 30 contestants competing to flaunt their vocal artistry and on-stage charisma.
Aimed at uncovering hidden talents among local artistes, the competition allowed them to showcase their musical passion across the company’s network. Actor Salif Hardie won the first season.
The final round of the competition saw Siti pairing up with guest singer Farhan Shah to deliver a rousing rendition of the song 'Keliru' ('Confused'). The performance impressed the judging panel, which comprised Aisyah Aziz, Hyrul Anuar, Rosalina Musa, Sheikh Haikel and Taufik Batisah, who were impressed by her vocal control and range, as well as stage presence.
On being crowned champion, Siti said: “I had heaps of fun during the competition and winning was a bonus! I am honoured to have been part of Berani Nyanyi? Season 2 which allowed me to explore my creativity and push my boundaries as an artiste. This was truly a show like no other, as it allowed all of us contestants to showcase our hidden talents and I am sure audiences were equally intrigued!”
