Mel Gibson and Winona Ryder, take a break.
We have another celebrity dispute in our hands: Charlize Theron just started a feud with erstwhile action star and Vladimir Putin BFF Steven Seagal.
In a remote interview on The Howard Stern Show on Monday (June 22, 2020), Theron, 44, explained how she prepared for her action scenes.
“At night I’ll go online to watch fighters or watch people fight and you always come across that odd Seagal video of him ‘fighting’ in Japan, but he really isn’t,” said Theron who’s done her fair share of demanding action in Aeon Flux, Mad Max: Fury Road, Atomic Blonde and the upcoming The Old Guard.
An unimpressed Theron added, “He’s just incredibly overweight and pushing people.” Ouch. She continued, “I have no problem talking s*** about him because he’s not very nice to women so ‘f*** you!’” Double ouch.
Theron is referring to the many women — including The Masked Singer judge Jenny McCarthy, Portia de Rossi and Julianna Margulies — who have accused Seagal of sexual improprieties over the years, allegations which he has denied.
“He’s overweight and can barely fight … look it up, it’s ridiculous,” Theron double-downed on her attacks. “He’s shoving people by the face, it’s a whole setup.”
On the show, Theron also explained how women have stepped up in the action genre and made it fun again. “We don’t want to f***ing fight like men, we want to fight like we would fight and figure out what this looks like,” she said.
“We want to fight smarter we want to fight in a way that makes sense and we want to do it in a way where we’re still part of emotional storytelling.”
