Trailer Watch: Will Ferrell And Rachel McAdams Play Icelandic Singers In Eurovision Song Contest Movie

'Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga' premieres on Netflix June 26.

Eurovision, the world’s biggest song contest, may be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Don’t fret — there’s something else to look forward to: a comedy about Eurovision. Sorta.

Netflix just dropped the trailer Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, premiering on June 26.

Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams play Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, respectively, two small-town Icelandic singers who seize a chance to fulfill their dreams of competing in the legendary contest.

Last month, Netflix teased an Eurovision music video, ‘Volcano Man’, performed by Erickssong and Ericksdottir. It's an ultra-cheesy pop tune that sounds like what happens if ’80s metal band Europe were hired to write a song for Thor: Ragnarok. Is this song the duo's winning submission? Or are there more such earworms on the soundtrack?

Directed by David Dobkin (The Wedding Crashers, Shanghai Knights), the movie also stars Pierce Brosnan, Demi Lovato and Dan Stevens.
