Sonic the Hedgehog has some work done to his teeth and eyes!
The live-action movie based on the Sega video game was supposed to be out last week. But when the first trailer dropped in April, fans complained about the way he looks: what's up with his rather human teeth and small eyes?
So great was the negative response that director Jeff Fowler announced on Twitter he and his team would fine-tune the speedster’s design, forcing the movie to be delayed by three months.
In the new trailer, the CG-animated Sonic, voiced by Ben Schwartz, has fewer teeth and bigger eyes, his head is bigger, and he’s wearing his white gloves. And the fans seem to be happy with the makeover: He's more like the Sonic they know from the video games. (The overhaul reportedly cost Paramount Pictures about US$5 million.)
Okay, let’s see if the rest of the movie, which also stars Jim Carrey and James Mardsen, is any good when it hits the big screen next year.
Sonic The Hedgehog opens in Feb 27, 2020.
