Trailer Watch: Marvel Celebrates ScarJo’s Double Oscar Nominations With New Black Widow Trailer

She’s joined by fellow Best Supporting Actress Oscar nominee Florence Pugh.

Barely a few hours after word got out that Scarlett Johansson scored two nominations for Best Actress (for Marriage Story) and Best Supporting Actress (for JoJo Rabbit) — Marvel Studios dropped the second trailer for Black Widow, the ScarJo-led prequel/spin-off featuring S.H.I.E.L.D agent Natasha Romanoff.

The new 90-sec ‘special look’ is a truncated version of the teaser released last month, but this time containing more footage of Natasha and her fellow assassin-spy Melina Vostokoff (Florence Pugh, who also received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nod for Little Women), and many Black Widows in action.

The promo gives us a closer look at the Taskmaster, a masked supervillain who can mimic anyone he (or she?) observes. So who is the person behind the mask? IMDB didn’t reveal anything, so that’s probably the movie’s Big Twist/Reveal. We’ll find out when the prequel — set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War — opens in April.

Black Widow opens in cinemas Apr 30.
