There will come a time when everyone will have superpowers — all they have to do is take a magic pill. And — boom! — you’re the next Human Torch, Invisible Girl or Luke Cage. The problem is, the drug is illegal and the powers only last for five minutes. (Hey, it's better than having no power at all, right?)
That’s what happening in Project Power, the upcoming action movie premiering Aug 14 on Netflix. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a cop who teams up with an ex-soldier (Jamie Foxx) and a teenage drug dealer (Dominique Fishback) to track down and stop the people responsible for creating it.
The movie — directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Paranormal Activity 3, Nerve) — also stars Westworld's Rodrigo Santoro and Colson Baker, aka rapper Machine Gun Kelly aka Megan Fox’s latest toy-boy.
I don’t want to jinx it but in the event Tenet doesn’t open in cinemas on Aug 13 — a possibility considering how things are going with the COVID-19 pandemic in the US — there's Project Power to tide us over.
