“Before I was an Avenger, I’ve made mistakes — and a lot of enemies,” so says Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff in the final trailer of Black Widow.
And one of the enemies is The Taskmaster, the big bad who can mimic the fighting skills of his rivals. He (or she?) has taken over the Red Room — the assassin training academy which Romanoff graduated from — brainwashing the other Black Widows to serve his (or her?) nefarious goals.
With a little help from her heavy-accented friends — and surrogate family (hello, Florence Pugh, David Harbor, and Rachel Weisz) — can Romanoff liberate her fellow leather-clad killers and stop the Taskmaster from wreaking havoc?
We’ll find out the answers in less than two months. (Let’s hope Disney doesn’t pull a No Time to Die and delay its release over COVID-19 concerns.) Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow marks the start of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.Black Widow opens in cinemas Apr 30.
