Marvel Studios has finally dropped the first official teaser of Avengers: Endgame. It 's a fitting title since it's probably the last movie for some of the characters.
In the two-and-a-half minute teaser, we catch glimpses of a downtrodden Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) lost in space, a clean-shaven Captain America (Chris Evans), and a pissed off Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).
The Avengers: Endgame teaser arrived just a few days after the unveiling of the second trailer of Captain Marvel. It looks like Brie Larson’s superhero has an essential part to play in the sequel, again directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, in reversing the damage Thanos caused in Infinity War.
We know for sure Black Panther and Spider-Man will be resurrected because their sequels are in the pipeline, and in Spidey’s case, Spider-Man: Far From Home is slated to open in July. So the pressing question is, how are they going to be brought back?
For months, the fourth Avengers movie’s title had been the topic of endless rumours and speculations. Some believed it’ll be Fallen Heroes. Annihilation was a top choice, too.
In October, the infamously loose-lipped Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk, revealed the title on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Even though Ruffalo’s answer was bleeped out, it had everyone playing Internet sleuth. Some even turned to audio-editing software to decipher what was actually uttered. (The Last Avenger, one site posited.)
Turns out that big spoiler was nothing but a red herring. Well played, Team Marvel.
Captain Marvel opens March 7 while Avengers: Endgame is out Apr 24. Where’s a Time stone when you need one?
