The 2020 Oscars To Air Live On Mediacorp Exclusively On Feb 10

Will 'Parasite' take home this year’s Best Picture Oscar?

The 2020 Oscars To Air Live On Mediacorp Exclusively On Feb 10

Mediacorp will air the 92nd Annual Academy Awards live via meWATCH and Channel 5, Monday, 7.30am, beginning with the red-carpet arrivals, followed by the main ceremony at 9am (SG Time). This is the first time in a decade Mediacorp is carrying the live Oscar-cast. The event will be held at LA’s Dolby Theatre.

Joker leads the Oscar race with the most nominations of 11— including Best Picture and Best Actor (Joaquin Phoenix) — while Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, The Irishman, and 1917, earned 10 nods each. Bong Joon-Ho’s Parasite has a shot becoming the first Korean film to win either Best Picture or Best International Feature (or both?). Click here for the full nomination list.

For a second consecutive year, Hollywood’s Biggest Night will be hostless. The red carpet festivities will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, actor and singer Billy Porter, award-winning journalist and talk show host Tamron Hall, supermodel Lily Aldridge, and film critic Elvis Mitchell.

While this year’s Oscars has been called out for its lack of diversity, the producers will make it up with a diverse line-up of presenters, which include Sandra Oh, Mindy Kaling, Keanu Reeves, Regina King, Rami Malek, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Kelly Marie Tran, Gal Gadot, Salma Hayek, Brie Larson and Mahershala Ali.

Elsewhere, there will be electrifying performances by Elton John, Billie Eilish, and Idina Menzel. The latter will perform the Best Original Song nominee ‘Into the Unknown’ — from Frozen 2 — with the other singers who voiced Elsa in Japan, Thailand, Denmark, Germany, Latin America, Norway, Poland, Russia, and Spain.

Remember: the Oscars will be shown live on mewatch.sg/oscars and Channel 5 on Monday (Feb 10), 9am (SG Time), with red-carpet coverage starting at 7.30am (same-day repeat at 6pm), followed by the main ceremony at 9am (same-day repeat at 10.45pm).
