Shaun Of The Dead Stars Update Survival Plan For COVID-19

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reprised their Shaun of the Dead characters in a public servicemen announcement to urge folks to stay safe at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The video, which Pegg posted on Twitter on Thursday (Mar 19), came shortly UK PM Boris Johnson announced new measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.

In the homemade clip, about a minute and 45-sec long, Pegg and Frost revised their rescue plan from Edgar Wright’s 2004 cult classic. This time, instead of dealing with the undead, it's COVID-19.

Wait, what was their escape plan? (Guess you aren’t a fan, right?) Don't worry, here’s a refresher:

The original plan was for the duo to ignore government warnings to stay home during the zombie apocalypse, rescue their loved ones and hang tight at their favourite pub, the Winchester.

In the new version, they’re doing the opposite of what they did in the movie. In other words, they're playing it safe by staying home.

“If you can, stay at home, have a cup of tea and wait for all this to blow over,” Pegg said in the clip. “Above all, don’t be a twat about things. We’re all in this together. Don’t be selfish, look after each other, give someone a call if you think they might be lonely.”
