Shortly after Parasite’s historic Oscar win on Sunday, John Cho found himself frequently mistaken for a cast or crew member of the movie.
But here’s the thing: the 47-year-old Korean-American actor isn’t in Parasite. He also has nothing to do its production. Zero, nada, zilch. The closest thing to a connection between the Star Trek star and Bong Joon-Ho’s dark comedy is this Oscars nomination announcement.
Still, that didn’t stop folks from coming up to Cho, and congratulate him for Parasite’s success.
“Standing with Parasite crew, I got congratulated A LOT. Lol,” Cho tweeted.

Cho, who attended the Oscars with wife Kerri Higuchi, didn’t say who those folks are.
Cho, who attended the Oscars with wife Kerri Higuchi, didn’t say who those folks were. (Journos? Fellow actors? Studio execs?) Last year, the cast of Crazy Rich Asians called out the media for repeatedly misidentifying its actors.

Cho was recently in The Grudge reboot, and is currently recovering from a knee injury which he suffered on the set of Cowboy Bebop, a Netflix series based on the popular anime.
