Marvel Honours Chadwick Boseman On His 44th Birthday With A New Black Panther Opening On Disney+
The late Chadwick Boseman would have been 44 on Nov 29.
Chadwick Boseman has been remembered on what would have been his 44th birthday.
Marvel have changed the opening credits for Black Panther on Disney+ to honour the late actor on Nov 29. Chadwick, who played Black Panther/T'Challa, passed away earlier this year after a secret battle with colon cancer.
Bob Iger, Walt Disney Company's executive chairman, wrote on Twitter: "To all fans of #BlackPanther: watch the film on #DisneyPlus late tonight, for a special tribute to someone that was and will always be near and dear to our hearts. (sic)"
Jennifer Garner remembered Chadwick Boseman with a video clip from a Vanity Fair shoot, along with a broken-hearted emoji.
Elsewhere, Howard University, where Chadwick studied directing and graduated with a BFA, remembered him as well. "Gone but not forgotten! Rest in Power," the university tweeted.
Chadwick died on August 28 after a secret health battle.
A statement released by his family at the time said: "It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. It was the honour of his career to bring King T'Challa to life in Black Panther. The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time."— BANG
