Leah Remini Calls Tom Cruise’s “Psychotic Rant” On Mission: Impossible 7 Set A Scientology Publicity Stunt

The well-known Scientology critic said, “I would bet that Tom had this rant written for him and had his Scientology assistant record and release it.”

While Hollywood is heaping praises on Tom Cruise’s now-(in)famous tirade on the crew of Mission: Impossible 7 for breaking COVID-19 protocols, at least one person isn’t very impressed with his rant.

Leah Remini, ex-Scientologist and Emmy-winning host of the docu-series Scientology and the Aftermath, believes the F-bomb-laden outburst, which happened earlier this week, is nothing more than a publicity stunt.

On Wednesday (Dec 16), The Sun released an audio recording of Tom lashing out at two crew members on the set of Mission: Impossible7 huddled around a computer monitor without observing safe-distance rules.

In a letter posted on the whistleblowing site The Underground Bunker, Remini, 50, wrote, “Tom does not care about the families of his crew; this is all for publicity. Tom does not believe in family values. I mean, how anyone is falling for this is just mind-blowing.

“I would bet that Tom had this rant written for him and had his Scientology assistant record and release it. Hearing a rich actor with enormous power address his crew in this way is a sign of weakness and a deeply troubled person.”

Remini, who left the Church of Scientology in 2013 after 34 years of devotion, added, “Tom has a history of being abusive to his inner circle, including the abuse of neglecting his own daughter, Suri.

“His mental state is showing. Tom seems to think that Hollywood is incapable of making films without his help. Saying such a thing indicates the godlike figure Tom believes he is, and what he is told by Scientology.

“The reality is, anyone who is working in Hollywood today is working under strict COVID guidelines. Anyone who is working knows this. Tom Cruise is not dictating how films are being made, even if he seems to think so.

“This psychotic rant only proves what many who know Tom or have worked for Tom knows: He is an abusive dictator just as he was taught by his guru [Scientology leader] David Miscavige." (Read Leah's letter here.)

Responding to Remini’s letter, a Church of Scientology member issued a statement to TheWrap, “The Church of Scientology has done more than any other religious institution in promoting COVID-19 prevention actions–throughout the U.S. and worldwide.

"Long before ‘stay at home’ directives, the Church took aggressive actions to prevent the spread of the virus. The Church’s leader acted well ahead of the curve. Remini is an unreliable source who attacks Scientology for publicity and money — as she herself has admitted.”

A few days after the leaked audio recording went viral, The Sun — them again — reported that Tom, 58, is secretly dating his Mission: Impossible 7 co-star Hayley Atwell, 38. “Tom and Hayley hit off from day one,” a source told the UK tabloid. “Lockdown, and all the difficulties that came with it, brought them even close and they’ve become fairly inseparable.”

Cuffed together: Tom Cruise on the set of ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ in Rome with co-star Hayley Atwell. They were spotted holding hands at a recent London screening, reported The Sun. It’s said that Tom had previously wanted to cast Hayley as the leading lad in 2012’s Jack Reacher; the part eventually went to Rosamund Pike.

As intriguing as it sounds, you have to question the timing of this reveal: Is this another publicity stunt?
