Wanna be a badass, butt-kicking Angel? All you need is a smartphone.
Angels have fallen: Act cute with the 'Charlie's Angels' VR filter.
To mark the release of the action- comedy Charlie’s Angel, opening here Nov 14, Sony Pictures has launched an AR filter which basically sticks a sparkling insignia on your face. Yes, very Ziggy Stardust.
You can access the filter here for Instagram and here for Facebook, and then strike a cheesy pose at the Charlie’s Angels photo op standees at select cineplexes. And pretend it never happen the next day.
Say cheese: A 'Charlie's Angels' photo op standee.
Charlie’s Angels stars Kristen Stewart, British newcomer Ella Balinsak, and Naomi Scott (Aladdin) as private detectives tasked with recovering a stolen weapon of mass of destruction. Elizabeth Banks, who’s also the director, co-stars as their boss Bosley.
The movie is based on the 1970s series produced by Aaron Spelling, which later spawned two big screen adaptations in the early 2000s, both starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barry Barrymore, and Lucy Liu.
“I want to tell a story about women at work,” said director Elizabeth Banks of her update in an Empire interview. “I don’t care about their boyfriends, the mum they don’t call, the cat they don’t feed. These women are here to kick ass and do a great job.”
Here’s Banks and her actors to tell you more about Charlie’s Angels...
Before the movie opens, you can catch Stewart flex her comedic muscles on Saturday Night Live this weekend on Comedy Central. It’s her second time hosting the variety sketch show; her first was in Feb, 2017.
If her SNL gig doesn’t make you laugh, there are the Twilight movies, now streaming on Netflix.
Charlie’s Angels opens in cinemas Nov 14. Catch Kristen Stewart on Saturday Night Live this Sat (Nov 9) on Comedy Central (Singtel TV Ch 324 & StarHub Ch 516), 10pm.
