Jessica Henwick, the star of Iron Fist and Game of Thrones, revealed that she has pitched a John Wick spin-off to Keanu Reeves — and it's called Jess Wick.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the 28-year-old British actor — whose mother is Singaporean — said she ran the idea by Reeves while they were shooting The Matrix 4.

“So I pitch Jess Wick to Keanu all the time. I’m probably driving him crazy,” Henwick says. “I was like, ‘Okay, Keanu, listen to me. Boom. John Wick 4, last five minutes, credits roll, post-credit sequence. Boom! You see my face, Jess Wick.’”

She continued, “I just started acting it out and then he started acting it out, too. We put on this little 10-minute show of what Jess Wick and John Wick would be like. Chad Stahelski, the director of all the John Wick movies, is flying out in two weeks, I think. So I’m going to go straight up to him and I’m going to say it. And yeah, watch this space.”

Stahelski worked as Reeves’ stunt double in The Matrix and, as well as the martial arts stunt coordinator in the sequels The Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions. He’s also helping director Lana Wachowski with a sequence on The Matrix 4.

Henwick is no stranger to the John Wick world. “Half of our stunt team on Iron Fist season one worked on the John Wick films,” said Henwick, who played martial arts expert Colleen Wing on the Netflix series. “So when I went back to New York, I hung out with the John Wick crew and had a great night. It’s a small world.”

There are currently two John Wick spin-offs in the works: One is The Continental, a TV series that explores the origin story of the hotel which serves as a sanctuary for assassins.

The other, Ballerina, is a feature about a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family. It’s probably set around the dance academy/killer school run by Anjelica Huston’s character in John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum. Underworld helmer Len Wiseman is attached as director

No cast has been announced for either project.

Meanwhile, look out for Henwick in On the Rocks, the Sofia Coppola-directed dramedy starring Bill Murray and Rashida Jones, premiering on Apple TV+ on Oct 23; and Blood of Zeus, a Greek mythology animated series dropping on Netflix on Oct 27.

The Matrix 4 is currently in production and is slated to be out in Dec 2021. Once Reeves is done with that, he’ll start filming John Wicks 4 and 5 back to back. John Wick 4 is expected to hit cinemas in May 2022.

Still a long way to go, still time to write Jess Wick into those follow-ups.
