Ghostbusters and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids star Rick Moranis was randomly sucker-punched by a stranger on Thursday (Oct 1) morning in New York City.

According to New York Post, Moranis, 67, was walking home near Central Park West when a stranger in an “I ❤ NY” sweatshirt suddenly slugged him in the head. The assault was on caught on video.

Moranis went to the hospital with head, back, and hip pain after the incident before reporting it to police.

On Friday afternoon, NYPD’s Community Affairs Rapid Response team checked on the actor at his home. One detective said, “[Moranis] is doing well. He is strong. He is recovering. He just wants us to catch the bad guy and all this to go away,” the officer said.

Moranis’ attacker is still at large.

After the news of Moranis’ assault broke, Chris Evans, 39, tweeted about the incident, writing, “My blood is boiling. Find this man. You don’t touch Rick Moranis.”

Moranis took a break from showbiz following the death of his wife from cancer in 1991. He recently begun to step back into the limelight, signing on for the

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids reboot called Shrunk. He also appeared alongside Ryan Reynolds in a commercial for Mint Mobile phone service.
