From Oct 1, large cinemas (with more than 300 seats, like Lido IMAX, which has 421) will be allowed to admit up to 150 patrons in three zones of 50 patrons, according to the latest COVID-19 update from MOH on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, smaller cinema halls will also be allowed to expand their capacity to 50 per cent of their original operating capacity or stick to the existing limit of up to 50 patrons per hall, subject to the relevant safe-management measures.

When cinemas reopened on July 13 — after being shuttered for almost four months during the Circuit Breaker period — they have to adhere to a 50-patron limit and a 1m safe-distancing seating configuration.
