21 Studio Ghibli Movies Coming To Netflix Starting From Next Month

They will be rolled out in batches over three months.

Good news for anime fans: Studio Ghibli movies are coming to Netflix!

In a landmark deal announced yesterday (Jan 20), the streaming titan has acquired the rights to 21 movies produced by the legendary Japanese animation studio, including the Oscar-winning Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and My Neighbour Totoro.

It’s the first time these movies will be made available via streaming in Asia, Europe and Latin America (the streaming rights in North America and Japan are picked up by HBO Max). The movies will be subtitled in 28 languages and dubbed in up to 20 languages.

Producer Toshio Suzuki at Studio Ghibli said, “In this day and age, there are various great ways a film can reach audiences. We’ve listened to our fans and have made the definitive decision to stream our film catalogue. We hope people around the world will discover the world of Studio Ghibli through this experience”.

Okay, when you’re done crying, kindly take note of the release schedule.
