Wu Chun’s 9-year-old daughter participates in first international ballet competition

The proud father shared that his daughter is so dedicated to ballet that she attends lessons five to six times a week.

Bruneian actor Wu Chun updated his Weibo account on December 21, sharing that his 9-year-old daughter, nicknamed Neinei, took part in a ballet competition in Malaysia. The contest was held from December 19 to 21.

“Neinei recently started her own Instagram account, together with her ballet friends. Today, I saw her post, and what she had written surprised me,” Wu Chun wrote.

It turns out that the caption Neinei had chosen for her post, “Sometimes we win, sometimes we learn new things,” is something that Wu Chun had always reminded Neinei of.

"Every time I have a conversation with her, she’ll tell me, ‘Papa, I want to win’. Knowing that she has understood what I always told her made me very happy. She did not make it to the finals this time, but she didn't cry even though she was sad and acknowledged that she is not good enough yet. Nothing worth having comes easy. Neinei, jiayou,” Wu Chun continued on to write.

The 40-year-old has shared in previous interviews that Neinei, who loves dance and ballet, goes for lessons five to six times a week. He remarked that Neinei is “more dedicated to ballet than I was to basketball when I was younger”.

Wu Chun appeared on the fifth season of the Chinese reality show, Where Are We Going, Dad? in 2018 with his two kids, Neinei, 9, and Max, 7.
