Would Jolin Tsai mind a boyfriend who smokes?

Jolin Tsai attended a press conference for an anti-smoking campaign in Taipei yesterday (Oct 23). The Mandopop queen revealed that she has a very sensitive nose and really hates the smell of secondhand smoke. She also shared that a lot of her friends have turned to electronic cigarettes lately, and while there is no smell, she still does her best to persuade them to quit smoking altogether.

When asked if her future boyfriend must be a non-smoker, the 39-year-old replied, “As long as he doesn’t smoke in front of me, but I will make sure to remind him about the importance of good health every day!” When asked if any of her ex-lovers were smokers, she laughed and said, “I don’t remember.”

In other news, Jolin has been garnering praise for her light-hearted response to a recent forum, in which netizens compared her with Patty Hou. Both women were romantically involved with Jay Chou in the past and were said to be on bad terms until a few years ago, when they were photographed together at Ruby Lin’s wedding, hinting that they had buried the hatchet.

Sharing a link to a news article about the poll on her Facebook page, which reported that Patty seemed to be winning a majority of the votes, Jolin wrote “The Feast of the Broken hearts”, along with the hashtags “if you’ve ever been confused, I understand [how you feel]”. Fans rushed to leave comments of encouragement and support on the post, and applauded Jolin for being so magnanimous.
