Wilber Pan wants to be Rainie Yang’s “bridesmaid”

Wilber Pan may be good friends with celeb couple Rainie Yang and Li Ronghao, but he found out about their recent engagement the same way as everybody else: through social media.

“My first thought was ‘how is this possible?’, then I immediately sent Rainie a message saying ‘it’s finally your turn!’” the Taiwanese-American singer shared at an event in Taipei yesterday (Aug 1).

According to Wilber, the trio has a group chat together, and he often jokingly scolds Rainie in it. However, instead of getting over-protective of his girlfriend, Ronghao simply responds with, “Ha ha ha.”

The soon-to-be 39-year-old also complained that although Rainie often nags at him to stop travelling for work so much and to quickly find a nice girl to settle down with, she has never tried to help introduce potential partners to him. Then, as if taking matters into his own hands, he volunteered to be one of her “bridesmaids” on her big day. “Perhaps I can get to know her other bridesmaids!” he quipped.

On a more serious note, Wilber shared that he intends to give Rainie a very generous red packet at her wedding. Although he did not disclose exactly how much he will set aside for her, he revealed that the biggest red packet he has given in the past was about TW$300,000 to TW$400,000 (about S$13,100 to S$17,500). “I probably need to give Rainie her red packet in American dollars!”
