It’s safe to say that the whole world is talking about or at least knows about the China extradition bill protests in Hongkong. Everyone except for Jackie Chan, it seems. The action superstar was promoting I Am Jackie Chan, his first album in 16 years, in Taipei two days ago (Jun 12) when he was asked about the political situation in Hongkong. Instead of giving his opinion, Jackie pleaded ignorance. “I only knew there was a big march in Hongkong yesterday, but I don’t know what it is about,” he said. His comment quickly incurred the wrath of netizens who threw shade at the famously pro-China star with comments like, “His ignorance is very convenient for him.”
